Euphoric Grenache 2010
The Euphoric Grenache is crafted from the La Vista Vineyard which is located on the westside of Paso Robles. With bright red fruits and a rose petal aspect on the nose this wine is very intriguing and is a pleasure to experience. Also, there is an interesting creamy strawberry-cheesecake aroma that is complimented with hints of spice box and caramel. It reminds me of the crust on a pie around Christmas time. The Euphoric has fresh acidity to it that is clean and seamless with heavy weight throughout the palate from front to back. This wine has a finish that seems to go forever and ends with fig, clove and cola upon gaining air in the glass.

This 44% Grenache, 44% Syrah & 12% Mourvedre blend is going to end up being my favorite wine of the vintage. As a winemaker I love to pick out the pieces of this wine and it gives me the most flexibility with regards to blending. It shows off with hints of maple and brown sugar and has a very subtle cinnamon flavor. This leads into a bit of a wet shoe-leather nose and light hints of sage with an intriguing apricot stone fruit finish. This wine needs a light decant or a few more months of bottle age before you indulge as it went into bottle 3 months after the other two wines. This GSM is a blend of the amazing Alta Colina Vineyard and La Vista Vineyard both of which are located in the limestone rich hillsides in Westside Paso Robles.

Buxom Syrah 2010
Buxom is crafted from La Vista Vineyard where we farm our fruit by the acre. At 95% Syrah and 5% Grenache this wine is very elegant and has a Northern Rhone element that is persistent throughout the wine. Loads of fresh tilled earth and olive tapenade on the nose and a strong dusty cocoa aroma that leaps out of the glass. This is coupled with hints of roasted coffee, a smokey char, anise and a bit of licorice. This wine is well structured and seamless from front to back and already has smooth tannins due to over a year of bottle age. All of this is a result of meticulous farming at La Vista Vineyard that is approximately 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean with a very steep north-east facing slope that dives off into a cool canyon deep out on Adelaida Road.

The Buxom blend has an earthy nose with blueberries and a hint of sage. It develops into a black licorice and meaty backbone. On the finish it has a highlight of dark chocolate and a crisp citrus note.

Euphoric 2009
The Euphoric blend spent 18 months in large French oak puncheons until ready to bottle. These puncheons are used in order to highlight the dark fruits with subtle oak nuances. Euphoric has a brown sugar and nutmeg nose to go along with the deep blackberry, ripe plum, and a creamy mint finish. Also it has a touch of cloves and sweet caramel.
